
Parameters identification of Gusarov volumetric heat source for melt pool calibration

The Gusarov volumetric heat source is an analytical model used to describe laser radiation in a powder bed during the selective laser melting process. In this work, an numerical estimation of the model parameters is proposed for calibrating the melt pool shape. Two approaches are investigated to solve the inverse problem and minimize the difference between computed and observed temperatures at the melt pool boundary.
